A participatory web-based project that uses technology to remix how you experience public space.
It was an election year, and immigration dominated conversations in both the USA and London—two places where “the other” is routinely criminalized and demonized. Living beyond our own borders, Hyphen-Labs turned its attention to the edges of cityscapes, exploring the transitional spaces where one side becomes another in search of insight, tension, and possibility.
Directions to Nowhere in Particular, created as part of The Bentway’s Digital and/as Public Space initiative, offers a playful and accessible way to engage with questions about borders, hybridity, and publicness. Blending digital and physical exploration, the project prompts visitors to wander through stray thoughts, open-ended queries, and subtle provocations that emerged from the larger research initiative.
