Running from La Migra...an exuberant and determined Reynato, sees a HELP WANTED sign on the side of a big top. He slips into the big top and becomes employed as the elephant caretaker. A circus comprised of clowns, Reynato, falls into his own fantasy, bonding him to circus life in an exchange that sends him on a search to find themselves and their place on the stage.

Through mime, shadow and clown Rey must face the realities of the circus as he meets the clown boss who saves him, and various circus acts including a sideshow, a strong men with a delicate ego and an uncooperative barbell, a showgirl with an unrelenting Jon, a high wire walker with a drinking problem and an elephant with gastrointestinal issues.

In 2024 Help wanted won Best New Flop at the Church of Clown Flop Fest to three sold out audiences, receiving two standing ovations. Help Wanted was developed at the New Now in Oakland with Dana Merwin and developed further at Dell'Arte with direction by Michelle Matlock. Since 2024, I have performed elements as well as the full show at festivals, clown conventions in Mexico, varitey shows and cabarets, private events and on the street. Most recently, Help Wanted traveled to Portland for Clownfest where it received two standing ovations in September 2025.
