We Walked
Creative coding visual narrative depicting the separation
We_Walked is a movement triptych—a visual narrative exploring the turbulence that emerges when space and time pull us apart. Two figures drift in and out of phase, mirroring the harmony and desynchronization that shape our lives. Through external push-knobs, users control their proximity and familiar gestures, subtly influencing how the characters meet, miss, or move past one another.
Inspired by lovers separated, friendships softened by distance, and the political boundaries that threaten to isolate us behind our screens, the piece reflects on connection in an increasingly fractured world. Developed at the School for Poetic Computation in 2016, We_Walked runs on a Raspberry Pi with OpenFrameworks.
